Hello Dear Friends: Thank you all for the outpouring of condolences and kind words. Many of you have asked about arrangements and memorial gifts, etc. As far as anything were doing locally, that is still in the planning process and I will let all of you Coloradoans know as soon as weve settled on what were doing. For those of you in the horse show world, the child of my mothers heart, Jimmy Torano, told me that a memorial is planned for tonight in Wellington. So if, youre in Wellington, contact Jimmy about this or just ask around because the news of my moms passing is spreading quickly. Someone will be able to steer you in the right direction. As for a memorial donation, please donate to New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program at New Vocations or the old fashioned way at 3293 Wright Road, Laura OH 45337. Although my mom loved all horses, she never really grew accustomed to the European horse invasion. She still loved thoroughbreds the best so we thought this a fitting cause. Ultimately my mom will be buried in Valley Forge National Park, along with my dads parents, my dad, when his time comes, (and my grandfathers second wife whose burial in this location was neither expected nor sanctioned and is a pretty funny, if not tawdry story if you ever want to hear it). I have asked for a small portion of her ashes to be kept separate which I would like to scatter at the showgrounds in Wellington the next time I am in Florida. The hospice social worker and I would look at Practical Horseman with her which was the best way to keep her attention in the past year. I showed her pictures of Gypsy Vanner horses on my iPad one time and even when she could hardly formulate a sentence she said Why didnt we ever have one of those? So, if shes a ghost somewhere, shes probably a happy one roaming around in Wellington. Shell probably be there tonight looking as cute as ever. Thank you to all of you. Molly
