Hello Everyone, Some new member of the club seem to be under the impression that we would be running trips every two weeks. Unfortunately rafting is largely dependent upon rain fall and more specifically rain fall in the right catchment area for a given river and at the right time in relation to a trip. We can’t predict exactly when and how much it will rain and thus if there will be enough water for a safe and fun rafting trip to go ahead. This mean sometime we aren’t able to run many trips, they get cancelled or are organised at the last minute because it has rained suddenly and we want to make the most of it! Furthermore our trips are also dependent on our members. We need to have enough experience within a trip to make it safe for everyone involved. This means we need a senior guide and enough other guides for the number of people coming, safety must come first. Most of our senior guides are in the work force and have other commitments, so aren’t always available. The Rafting Club is predominantly a student run organisation, we all get busy sometimes, we will always do our best to organise trips and let you know about them, there is also nothing to stop YOU from organising trips if you want them to happen (just ask for some advice if you need it!)
