THURSDAY 7-11-13 ~ Hosea 3:4-5 ~ For the Israelites will live - TopicsExpress

THURSDAY 7-11-13 ~ Hosea 3:4-5 ~ For the Israelites will live many days without a king or prince, without sacrifice or sacred stones, without ephod or idol. Afterward the Israelites will return and seed the Lord their God and David their king. They will come trembling to the Lord and to his blessings in the last days. STUDY BIBLE: The northern kingdom had reveled against David’s dynasty & had taken Jeroboam as their king (1 Kings 12; 13). Their rebellion was both political & religious. At that time, they reverted back to the worship of golden idols. “David their king” refers to the time of the Messiah’s rule when all people will bow before him in humility & submission. Those who won’t accept Christ’s blessings now will face his power & judgment later. How much better is it to love & follow Christ now than face his angry judgment later. THOUGHTS: Seems we are living in the same turmoil of politics & religion. We have fell away from the raisings of our ancestors… have selfish self-centered attitudes in our thinking that we are the center of the universe & everything revolves around us and worship materialistic idols of greed, wants & lusts. The Lord has ways of getting our attention though & will humble us into submission of His will for our lives. One only has to take off those rose colored glasses & step outside that glass house you have built to see we quite possibly are living in the end days. Rose colored glasses hinder us from seeing what hypocrites we are when we start believing we are the epitome of perfection & judge others due to our living under the false pretense of our own self-righteousness. Those who might try to portray their lives as perfect have many troubles & skeletons in their closets & have stones aimed at their lil glass house. I am not perfect, I am a sinner, my house is not perfect & my family is not perfect but I believe in keeping it real for my God knows all so why play charades & portray myself as something I can never be … perfect & Christ-centered 24/7. It is only as we stand in judgment at God’s throne of justice answering for our sin filled pitiful lil life that we become perfect for we have left behind all the temptations of this life trying to be something we are not – perfect & free from sin. “Beginnings are usually scary and endings usually sad, but it is the middle that counts. You have to remember this when you find yourself at the beginning.” (Sandra Bullock – Hope Floats) What will the interpretation of your middle be as those birth & death dates are chiseled on your tombstone? Amazing how just a couple lil verses can bring out such thoughts & this is how we study our bible folks by reading & pondering on what we have read then apply its lessons & principals to our lives in such as way to make a difference in someone else’s life. Today Lord, let me be your guiding light that has the ones in my path turning towards You. Amen…
