Hello Favorite People! Ive been waiting to tell you all some news about our CIO (Chief Inspiration Officer for our Athenas), aka the inspiration for the Project Athena Foundation concept, aka our beloved Trail Angel, aka one of my best pals (Man, the girl has a lot of titles! Well deserved ones!), Louise Cooper, until the story had a better ending than ...pray. It was confirmed that Wheezys Breast cancer (I refuse to capitalize the word cancer. It doesnt deserve it) had returned last month, and just under two weeks ago, she underwent a double mastectomy. We were all waiting on pins and needles for the pathology report, and thank God and all the Angels, the doctor said that her margins are clear and that the cancer was stage 1. She is going to have a long road of recovery and reconstruction ahead, not to mention several rounds of chemo, but she doesnt care because shes going to be bald, puffy, and ALIVE to tell the tale to her grand dogs. Shes on this FB page, so lets send her as much love as we can for a speedy recovery! We cant wait for you to come play with us again soon, Wheezy!!! Thanks for all of the good juju you can send, gang. As anyone who has met Louise knows, a more special, wonderful, hilarious, fabulous, ball of empathy and love has rarely ever walked the earth.
