Hello Folks, here is some dates we will be needing your help. February 12th MRC meeting This will be a social/planning event. The MRC will be providing an entrée and invites everyone to bring some snack food to share. We will discuss goals and objectives for the upcoming year. February call down drill Each year we have to complete a call down drill to show we can reach MRC members in time of need. We are in need of 3 or 4 members to help by making telephone calls and sending emails the second or third week of February. March 15th Health Fair Doctor Nicholson is organizing a health fair at Our Savior Lutheran Church from 9:00 to 1:00. Volunteers will be needed to answer questions and distribute information to the public. April 9 Blood Lead Screening Only one third of the children in Evansville are getting the needed blood lead screening. Lead poisoning robs children of their future by causing nerve damage, kidney damage, behavioral problems and loss of IQ. On 4/9/14 from 2:00 to 6:00 we will be setting up a blood screening site in the Lutheran Family Center. MRC volunteers are needed for several tasks. Please put this date on your calendar. April POD Exercise As part of our preparedness grant we have to conduct an exercise each year. This year we will be setting up a point of dispensing at a local school and using students to determine how many people we are able to treat in an hour. We will need several MRC members to help set up, dispense simulated medicine and many other tasks. A solid date has not been set for this yet look for more information to come.
