Hello, I found another batch of pictures from our Norrnandy - TopicsExpress

Hello, I found another batch of pictures from our Norrnandy board at Salute 14. The heavy artillery position occupying the edge of the woods (the second objective for the British on the day) To give the impression of actual dug-out field works - we actually dug out a foam-core hill and shuttered it with tiny cut corrugated plasticard from a architects supplier (EMA) and made scaled wooden boards with cocktail sticks to line the gun pits. Earthwork/soil is a mix of mediums and applied with skill by Richard Kelly The end result, when viewed at soldiers-eye level is rather excellent. Camouflage on guns is based on actual wartime photos of similar heavy cannons stationed on Jerseys western coastline during occupation (we are very fortunate to live here in the Channel Islands for this type of thing) I would also like to point out that the British armour was painted by one of our members - Damian Ceremuga, who up until this project, had never painted 15mm historical or FOW models. The 8th Hussar tanks, Armoured Recce and Mortar platoons are his first efforts. The colours are researched using vallejo (the best) matched to wartime exhibits at Bovington Tank Museum. Wargames Illustrated commended Damian for his work and featured his tanks in the article (and online) More pictures of work-in-progress on our FB Salute page. Any questions please ask.
