Hello Karting Family We have had many calls and questions as to whether we are going to race Saturday. The thing is that we certainly don’t want to call the race early due to the fact there are few weekends and a rainout race will only call for us to schedule a makeup on top of another event. We try to work with other people so that you can participate in several events during the same race season. So, you have to be patient when it comes to us canceling a race. We will wait until as long as we can before we cancel. Now, don’t think we don’t take you into consideration. We certainly do. We realize that some of you travel hours to come to our establishment and believe me, we certainly appreciate it. We have people coming from South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, Virginia, and Kentucky and we understand that you need to know as soon as possible. Another fact is in the preparation of the track. I think you all know how much pride we take in prepping our track. We try our best, race to race, to supply you a track with a smooth race surface. Tommy, Zack, and the others have really come through with their hard work. But, if it were to rain all day we would have to have several hours of sun before we could get on the track to try to prepare it as you are accustom to. By the reports (and my husband’s keen sense of meteorology), it looks very doubtful that we will get just that. SO, it really saddens me to announce that the race for Saturday, 8/2/14 has been canceled. We will have our next scheduled race in two weeks. It will be our LRP Local Points/Money Race on August 16. Details will be posted on our website (daytonaofdirt), Bob’s 4-Cycle, and on Facebook. On August 30, we are hosting our 2nd Annual Celebration Race. Details will also be posted soon. I hope you all will plan to come celebrate with us. We (the Burrows) have now owned LRP for two full years and you have made these last two years very enjoyable. Again, we certainly appreciate all who had planned to come race with us. The pre-registration was really good and I think by the calls, messages, request for parking, and of course the pre-registration, we would have had a really good crowd. It may would have been one of the best crowds that we would have had this year. I just hope that you all will plan to come back again. Again, I hate it, but the race for Saturday has been canceled.
