Hello Mankato and surrounding area. We had many exchange students - TopicsExpress

Hello Mankato and surrounding area. We had many exchange students placed in the area this past year. I received many photos of students experiencing snow and sledding for the first time in their lives, making maple syrup, helping their host families with the farm chores, going to the lakes, and so many other wonderful experiences that will be lifelong memories for these students. We have two really amazing students to place and I would love to see them placed in our area. They are both recipients of U.S. State Department scholarships and have earned their scholarship after months of competitions. There are approximately 30,000 students that compete for this scholarship each year and only 800-900 are selected. That means both of these boys were in the TOP 2-3% of those 30,000 applicants. These boys EARNED their own way here at no expense to their parents. You can imagine the doors of opportunity this program opens to students around the world. Please consider hosting or becoming a welcome family (host for 6 weeks) for one of these boys. I want them to know the awesome hospitality Minnesota has to offer. Host families only provide a bed, meals, and make sure that their student has a way to and from school and school events. Students speak English, have spending money (monthly stipend that is part of their scholarship) and insurance. Contact me directly if you would like more information: [email protected]. Kazi is a 15 year old boy from BANGLADESH. Please call my short nick name Dipto. I am very close to nature. When you realize how beautiful it is you can find peace there. Im tolerant towards any other religion. Even so I have other hobbies like sports. I am on the soccer team and I like cycling. I like to try something just for fun. I hope in my new school I can do that. In addition I just love creative hobbies. I like gardening and reading books, one of my favorites is Harry Potter. I listen to music for relaxation and positive thoughts. I love animals - if you have pets its wonderful. I have one older brother who studies in China. The idea to go to the United States was there a long time. I think USA is just awesome. The culture, the people, the everyday life, the landscapes, the high schools...just everything! GPA: 4.00 Bassam is a 17 year old boy from YEMEN. My name is Bassam and I am 17 years old. The most important things in my life are my family, my school and my friends. I will also get to meet new friends and improve my language so I can join Medicine college in the future. GPA: 3.10
