Hello NYC Black Theatre Network, As an Nigerian, I very rarely see African film projects promoted in the American tv or film industry. I decided to changed that by creating #FANBASE, a web series. I know many African American friends who enjoy African movie dramas, and this project is a cross-cultural drama that brings together African, American and Asian main roles, about a pop star who sues his fans, his secret love affair with his stylist, and his troubled relationship with his best friend. As an African who was raised in America, I find this story line a refreshing change from the usual stereotypical and one-dimensional roles afforded to African, Black and Asian actors. The fact that its an African filmmaker bringing together elements of African drama with current and relevant topics makes it even better. I would love to see this project brought to life and I hope you would support the diversity that is represented in this project. Thank You.
