Hello Phoenix Redditors! Last year, we hosted a field trip to the Phoenix Bat Tunnel where people could come out, learn all about bats, and watch them fly out as they hunted for the night! The bat tunnel in Phoenix is home to between 10,000 and 15,000 Mexican Free Tailed Bats, and theyre awesome to see. This year, were doing it again AND were teaming up with the Arizona Department of Game and Fish! This means well have bat skeletons, a sonar listening device so people can actually HEAR the chirps that bats use to locate their prey (echolocation!), and some samples of the foods that bats can eat! Well have these, and other awesome surprises in store for all of you nature lovers! So if you guys want to come out and check out the bats with us, learn about them, and get to participate in an AWESOME community event with some kick ass resources from Game and Fish, then come on out! Here are the event details, Ill be posting updates regularly on the event page. This is an open invite event, so please feel free to share with anyone you think would like to come learn about bats! This is going to be SO ridiculously awesome, I cant wait! Hope to see you there! :D
