Hello! We, the 13 residents of a close-knit communal house are looking for someone to sublet with us from Feb through May. Who we are: an eclectic mix of teachers, gardeners, farmers, computer geeks, students, musicians, artists, healers, DIY enthusiasts and bicyclists who together form a community where we endeavor to honour the needs of each individual and those of our community. Our values are ultimately based on a deeply shared respect for the earth and the people and cultures that inhabit her. In the past, we have enjoyed hosting talent shows, workshops, intentional parties, potlucks, jams and other events of the like. We do have two cats and two rabbits and any new pet friends would have to be communicated and negotiated with all roommates. Were looking for folks who are good communicators, open-minded, kind, respectful, accountable, and mindful. It is important that roommates be committed to working toward anti-oppression, diversity and consensus. As well, its important that roommates desire to participate in all aspects of a communal home: cleaning (theres lots of it!), challenging yourself and others to grow, weekly meetings and so on and so forth. Our home is just that, a home. It is not only a space we live in but a space we put our time, energy and love into making something more, a home for all of us to share. We are looking for mature people who embrace most (if not all) of the qualities above, yet someone who will bring a unique personality and comfortable energy to our home. The rent is $400 which includes phone, long distance, internet, utilities, communal purchases i.e. t-p, cleaning supplies, etc. We also share a bulk food order for certain staple foods, which averages about $20 a month. The room will be available for Feb 1st until May 31, although there is some flexibility with the final date. The house has two kitchens, two living rooms, four bathrooms, 11 bedrooms, a deck, a garden, compost, sheltered bike storage, and ocean views from several of the upstairs rooms. Located at Moss and Dallas, right by Clover Point. If this has struck a chord with you, please do contact us! *Write us a letter of intent that addresses the following: a bit about who you are, what youd like to bring/contribute to this communal home, and what youd like to get out of it.* Wed love to meet you and see if wed fit with each other.
