I look forward to hopefully hanging out. I think you guys have a unique perspective of the next generation and Id love to hear your thoughts on the conversation well be having. We are having a free movie and discussion night at East Petersburg Mennonite Church. Its a movie from Morgan Spurlock (Supersize Me). The movie is called What Would Jesus Buy? Id love to invite our neighbors of all backgrounds. “What Would Jesus Buy?” is a 2007 documentary film produced by Morgan Spurlock. The film focuses on the issues of the commercialization of Christmas, materialism, the over-consumption in American culture, globalization, and the business practices of large corporations, as well as their economic and cultural effects on American society. The film follows the outlandish street-activist Reverend Billy and his choir as they take a cross-country trip in the month prior to Christmas, and spread their message against what they perceive as the evils of patronizing the retail outlets of several different large corporate chains. This is my 7th annual hosting of the movie this Saturday (December 6th, 2014) at East Petersburg Mennonite Church. The movie will start at 6:30pm. Friends, I am inviting you to join me in watching it. I cant tell you in words how important I find this conversation at Christmas time. We are located at 6279 Main Street East Petersburg, PA . Throughout the movie sometimes you will laugh at him and sometimes you will get angry at him. However, this movie will be sure to spark an engaging conversation together. He’s part prophet and part heretic. Still, his message is true and important. This plot of this movie will correspond well with our Advent Conspiracy Series that we are doing at East Petersburg Mennonite Church.
