Hello again.. I just came up from a good run on the tread mill and had a good conversation with two ladies who were also down there working out. Turns out that one of the woman and I have a lot in common when it comes to our parents. Her father is 89 and going through what our family went through a few months ago with my mother. He has been falling and not taking good care of himself and he is in a rehab at this moment and it looks like he may not be coming home. I tried to ease her mind and let her know that I knew where she was coming from. I had a lot of the fears she is experiencing now when my Mom made the decision to not go back to her home and stay in Lexington. As kids we tend to think the worst, and also we have to feel for them because they have been on their own for so long and we must realize that they have a lot of fear. But I said, if this happens, just be there for them. Visit, show up, take him out if possible and try and make this transition as good as it possibly can be. In time he will get use to it, hopefully that is, and most of these places if you look around for some quality places, provide entertainment, Therapy, and a good living accommodations. They will make friends and now that the good weather is coming, they can still come home, go to family get togethers and fun stuff. We as children have been taken care of by these people, and we should try and pay back that fact. When we left she thanked me, and I in turn thanked her for sharing this private thing to me. She goes there all the time to visit so I believe in my heart, that her father will be ok. That is at least what I pray for..
