Hello, all! Its a cold, sunny day here in colorful Colorado. Hope yall are having a glorious day. :D Had someone ask what God is like. I had to first ask what their interpretation of God was first. They seem to have told me what God is not like. Its because without the authority of the Bible, their attempt to explain the attributes of God was more of an option, which is often incorrect. To say that is important for us to understand what God is like is a colossal understatement - it could be dangerous. Only what God has chosen to reveal of Himself can be known through the Bible. Creation, the Bible, and the Word made flesh (Jesus Christ) will help one know what God is like. :) I will give you what Im aware of who and what God is: + God is our Creator (Genesis 1:1) - and we are a part of his creation. + God is eternal (Psalm 90:2) - there is no beginning and his existence will never end. + God is immortal and infinite (1 Timothy 1:17). + God is unchanging (Malachi 3:6) - the way he was before is how he is now and forevermore. + God is reliable and trustworthy (Numbers 23:19). + God is incomparable (2 Samuel 7:22) - there is no one like him and is unequaled and completely perfect. + God is unfathomable as far as understanding him (Romans 11:33). + God is just (Deuteronomy 32:4). + God is omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient – meaning he is all powerful and does what he pleases but his actions will always be in accord with the rest of his character; hes present everywhere; he is all-knowing. + God is one - he stands alone because there is no other like him (Deuteronomy 6:4). + God is sovereign, meaning supreme (Psalm 93:1). + God is spirit - meaning he is invisible (John 1:18). + God is Trinity - three in one, the same in substance, equal in power in glory. + God is truth - he will remain incorruptible and cannot lie (1 Samuel 15:29). + God is holy (Isaiah 6:3). + God is gracious (Exodus 34:6) - this includes his goodness, kindness, mercy, and love. If it were not for his grace, his holiness would exclude us from his presence. Thankfully, he desires to know each and every single one of us personally (John 3:16)! I try and explain in simple terms, but since God is an infinite Being, no human can ever fully understand him. But through the Word, we can understand what God is and what he is like. Most people have a bad interpretation of God. I hope his information helps. May we ALL wholeheartedly continue to seek after him. :) Have a blessed day full of knowledge! Much love.
