Hello all. We hope youve had a great winter break. Weve had a request to run a training session in Grantham as we have a few people there who have expressed an interest in joining. We would love to do this and as a Lincolnshire group we have always said that we want to get out to the entire county and have thought about how this might be achievable. Currently most of our membership is based in and around Lincoln itself but we are up for travelling and have the means to get our current membership to other training venues. So for instance, we do have a member in Grimsby and one in Market Rasen, so we are intending to run a session between Lincoln and Grimsby and will be offering a kind of bus service to non-drivers to that venue. This is definitely achievable and something we are keen to do ... but we need there to be a demand for this. If you come from another area and would like us to bring a session to you, please just ask. I was hoping to explore the possibility of running a Grantham session in January and have asked the individual who approached me about it to put forward some ideas for training areas and give me a sense of numbers who are interested. Our insurance and Regia regulations demand that certain criteria are met in terms of the land that we train on for combat and common sense demands that we also look for somewhere non-combatants would also be comfortable. This means we are required to do a site visit to assess the terrain and size of the venue and then approach the land owner to find out if they are happy with a group of people hitting each other or possibly even doing archery. It doesnt need to be big but also needs not to be riddled with rabbit holes etc. So please do suggest away, whether you are in Spalding or Scunthorpe. Many thanks and happy New Year. :-)
