Hello awesome humans. Forgive me if this post just seems like a bunch of white tears, but I am so deeply disappointed in my community of fellow white people right now and its making me really low. Ferguson has exposed to me some deep ugliness in people I thought I knew, people who would consider themselves liberal and educated, people who I have zero interest in ever speaking to again. It makes me sick and sad because I want to believe my friends and family can do better. Some of the things people have been saying today literally make me sick, and Im like, I thought I knew this person. I thought this was a decent person. But its true that events like this bring out the true colors in people, and man......a lot of people I know are vomit-colored. Again I know that this is nothing compared to the loss, anger, frustration, and grief that many POC feel today, but my heart is really heavy right now and I was wondering if anyone else was feeling the same.
