Hello everyone, I hope this update finds everyone happy and well! There is not much to update on, which I suppose is a good thing, right? Bronson continues to make baby step improvements in his strength. There are days when he does really well, and days when he is just exhausted. It feels very much like a 2 steps forward, 1 step back scenario. His swelling has been the biggest issue. He gained 34 pounds in the 2 weeks since he started his TPN and lipids...yikes. So, the dietician had us hold the fluids over the weekend, which didnt upset Bronson in the least. He was glad to not have to drag around that bag! Ive also given him a few doses of lasix (diuretic). His blood counts are real low again, so I would imagine that he would get another blood transfusion this week. He has been pale and more fatigued, so that makes sense. All of his records have been faxed to Boston Medical, so we hope to hear something this week or next. He will start physical therapy this week, and I have to call to get an appointment with the GI doctor this week also. They will be able to better evaluate if he has amyloid in his GI tract. I know that all sounds like a lot, but things really do seem to be in a holding pattern, and it is giving him the chance to rest some and work on getting stronger. He continues to enjoy eating more, and that makes me happy. Most importantly, above and beyond anything else, he was able to enjoy Thanksgiving Day with our families! He slept a good bit, and we had him propped up to help the swelling, but he did well, and he really enjoyed himself! We hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and thank each of you for continuing to love on us, and pray for us!
