Hello everyone ... I recently watched several videos by Andrew Bird that highlighted his use of loops to build semi-improv songs with violin, guitar, chimes and whistling. I was wondering if anyone in the group uses looping to write or perform, what their process was, and what tools they used. I have a Line6 DL4 which seems to be the classic device, although their are others out there that I know nothing about. Ive used it primarily for a repeating patter or background texture, mostly inspired by the amazing moods guitarist Bill Frisell gets out of two DL4 and other boxes. So when I saw Bird lay down the changes and build on top of them, I thought it was an amazing and inspiring sound. Thanks in advance for your thoughts on this!
