X-Men dont die. They just get better. Every time I read about - TopicsExpress

X-Men dont die. They just get better. Every time I read about this mysterious restructuring that everyone is click baiting and fear mongering about, I am reminded of one thing. Its happened before. Itll happen again. The best and worst trait of comics in this case is the constant desire to reset the world. It can be a pain to continuity, consequences, and character growth, but it can also be reassuring. Think about the way the world has gone in the last decade. Messiah Complex, Second Coming, Utopia, Schism, AvX, All-New X-Men, and now Axis and Death of Wolverine. The only reason this feels like the end of the world is because were alongside the story, and we dont know whats coming. Imagine if your last decade of comics had instead included X-Tinction Agenda, Fall of the Mutants, The Siege Perilous, The Reavers, The Outback, Inferno, and The Muir Island Saga. Would you believe me if I said that yes, everything would be better next year? That the school would be rebuilt, the whole team united, and a new title launching as the biggest comic book sale of all time? That twenty years in the future that soft reset will be regarded as The good old days? When Onslaught was dominating the shelves, the world was lost and everyone was dying. How long before Heroes Reborn took the stage? The relaunches didnt even keep the new numbers after a few years. When Civil War, Secret Invasion, and Dark Reign was a never-ending nightmare, how long before The Heroic Age set everything right again? Yes, the world is literally blowing up. Its happened many times before. It has never stopped them. X-Men dont die. They just get better.
