Hello everyone! One of our goals this year in 2015 is to be more open when it comes to planning events (though we have to keep SOME things secret because we love awesome surprises) so here is an update on a future events. As you may or may not know, we are planning to have what we call Super Bash Sisters, an entirely female gamer themed event where women and girls are the focus, sometime in the Summer. We did a community outreach to female gamers in the general geek community and the outpouring of support was so strong it went from concept on paper to pre-production in 24 hours. One of our goals with the event is to raise money to donate to a cause that would benefit woman in New York City and around the world. While we have (and are still) looking into charities for Breast Cancer Research and Domestic Violence, we think we found a very video game appropriate cause for the event: Empowering young girls in technology fields to be out future creators of Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Triple A Blockbusters and Indy games. We are still in the planning stages but we are currently in talks with Girls Make Games, Black Girls Code, Girls Who Code and Geek Girl Diners to not only help the event become reality, but raise money and awareness for their endeavors.
