Hello everyone, Tryouts for level 4 and 5 will be held on - TopicsExpress

Hello everyone, Tryouts for level 4 and 5 will be held on Saturday September 13th at the Fulton YMCA. Level 5 tryouts will be held at 10:00am. Level 4 tryouts will be held at 2:30pm right after level 3 class. The cost is $10.00 each girl for both level 4 and 5. The girls will be judged in the following categories: Dance, jumps, tumbling, stunts, flexibility, arm motions and facial expressions. Current YCOA cheerleaders will also be judged on their attendance to class, competitions and showcases. Each candidate will need to perform a 30 second dance routine that the candidate has created. Bring your own music prepared to play it with a cell phone or mp3 player. Each candidate will also be required to display a jump sequence. The jump sequence must consist of three consecutive jumps with the whip, a break in between followed by two advanced jumps. Five jumps are the minimum but feel free to show off and do more if you can. Tumbling will be displayed by each girl. You will be asked to display forward roll, cartwheel, round off, back walkover, front walkover, back handspring. Feel free to display a combination of round off backhand spring or round off back walkover. Flexibility can be displayed by showing left/right/ front splits, scorpion, arabesque, heel stretch, scale, liberty and bow and arrow. Arm motions will be displayed by demonstrating the arm motion sequence. Facial expressions will be judged while the girls are performing all these skills. The stunts will be judged based off the position the candidate wants. It is in the girl’s best interest to apply for multiple positions. If a candidate can base, back spot, front spot and fly, they will be more valuable than a candidate who can only do one position in a stunt group. Judging will be done by Keisa Hudson Raleigh level 6 for the level 5 team and level 4 will be judged by the existing level 4 team members. Tryouts are for anyone from the ages of 7 to 18 years old. They do not have to be an existing YCOA cheerleader to tryout so please spread the word. Thanks, Danielle Borland
