Hello, everyone, it is a new and a beautiful day. A day we all can say we never saw before and we will never see it again. Take time and let a love one know that you do love them and that they are of great value, because God made them. Also if you know of someone in need help them in what ever way you can, you would be surprised of the impact of your contribution. Finally, our President Obama is finally ready to make a very historic and I believe a good decision, both morally and economically on immigration Reform. If you have time and I kindly ask that you make time to sit down and watch his speech tomorrow night. Long before the announcement of my run for U.S. Congress and throughout my campaign I remained committed to this issue and vowed that I would support the Presidents policy on Immigration Reform for many good reasons. Here are just a few. We need comprehensive immigration laws. Currently there are 11 million people waiting for legalization so that they can enjoy the full benefits of the American path to citizenship. There are 1,000 people deported each day. Surely we cannot deport 11 million people we need to pass comprehensive immigration reform. We not only have a humanitarian crises but also a moral crises in America relevant in part to a broken immigration system. There is a great deal of Americans who have noted that Congress needs to vote on this legislation at this time the President knows that this will not happen. He has been patient and he has given the Republicans plenty of time to pass the existing bill that was passed in the Senate. This is a moral and an American issue and we need to act NOW! I am proud to be born in a country that offers fair opportunities to those who want to come to America and work hard to obtain the dream, of getting a quality education, owning a home, gain skills that will allow them to obtain gainful employment and not only benefit from our system but also contribute. Therefore the undocumented immigrants need not be denied this opportunity to obtain it the right way. In the 21st Century economy, companies that have access to the best workers and a diverse pool of workers will grow, while those that do not will fall behind. The founders of forty percent of Fortune 500 companies were either an immigrant or a child of immigrants. To attract the Fortune 500 founders of tomorrow, we need a visa for entrepreneurs. We could also drive job growth by granting green cards to the thousands upon thousands of engineers, scientists, and other advanced degree holders we currently train in our universities and then send home to compete against us. And increasing the availability of visas for temporary workers to fill needs in our economy will give companies the flexibility they need to produce more products, hire more Americans and generate more revenue for our struggling economy. Studies estimate that each temporary, H-1, high skilled visa creates five additional jobs in the same company; while each low-skilled, H-2A, farm visa creates three additional jobs in management, shipping, supplies and other upstream areas. A U.S. jobs agenda that acknowledges the contributions of immigrants will create opportunities for all American citizens. I support reforming our current immigration laws. I also believe that those who desire to come to America to live, work, raise a family and become an American citizen should play by our rules. Thus, modernizing our immigration laws to attract the talent our companies need to compete in the global marketplace is a critical must. While I believe we have superb talent among our current talent pool to help us compete in the global market, we need diverse talent and diversity of talents. I support comprehensive immigration reform. First, if a child of illegal immigrants or who might be one themselves successfully completes his or her education, then a Citizenship Certificate should be attached to their diploma. I support keeping families together and policies that will put them back together through a legal and fair citizenship process. One of the ways to fund it is to reduce the exploitation of immigrant workers by enforcing present immigration laws vigorously so that cheating employers are not avoiding the payment of the employer contribution to Social Security or avoiding paying any taxes at all, including the withholding taxes of their employees. Passing comprehensive Immigration Reform so that millions of young undocumented immigrants are brought into the system together with the employers who often employ them illegally thereby producing revenue in numerous ways for our government which now is never paid. Other issues that Congress should do in the 114 Congress is; Pass a minimum wage or create a Living Wage Rate and giving women equal pay for equal work because minority women make only 54 cents for every dollar earned by men for the same work thereby reducing government assistance programs; increasing the taxes paid at all levels; and providing an income that supports their families and expands the middle class. In addition, Congress should focus on creating good high paying jobs by massive investment in this country’s crumbling infrastructure and close the corporate loopholes in the tax system, that allows Corporate Inversion.
