I am just catching up on things and Im absolutely infuriated at Annies teacher(s) and school. Apparently, they cant handle my kid, and instead of stepping up and communicating with me, they just shove her off to the side and take to the infamous labeling. I was never notified of any changes to her behavior or grades and saw some surprises on her report card and NI as her conduct grade. NO COMMUNICATION WHATSOEVER FROM THE SCHOOL! Annie has gone as far as saying that she is scared of her teacher because she is mean and rude and never wants to help. There lies the problem, as a teacher, your JOB is to teach and ensure that learning is taking place in a safe and positive environment; however, it is the opposite in this case and it is really quite apparent. I sat down with the teacher, principle and counselor early in the school year and requested the presence of someone from main office- the principal asked that it be resolved between us and I agreed in good faith. In the process, my concern, was not completely addressed, rather their agenda began and I sat quietly and listened. It was apparent at that point that my concern, my issue, was not important to them and they only wanted to cover their tracks. I was, in not so many words, told to consider taking Annie to the doctor to be put on medications that would help her focus.... BUT was told that my child was a TRUE GT student (one that theyve never had before). SO, its very difficult to understand their lack of wanting to strengthen, develop and most of all HELP my child. These schools suck. Im better off home schooling my child. Shed probably have a better quality of education here with me.
