Hello folks, Mr Estall here. The FFLs Teenage Intern is now at University, dividing his time between studying hard and drinking himself unconscious. However last year he was lucky to see an advance screening of Terry Gilliams The Zero Theorem at the BFI London Film Festival. Heres his review: Do you remember Lost in Translation? Great film, fantastic performances from Bill Murray and Scarlett Johanssen and deserving of all the recognition it got. It followed a simple pattern, consisting entirely of one rule, that being- RULE 1: All of a sudden- nothing happens. The Zero Theorem follows a similar pattern. Its a really good film, with Christoph Waltz stealing the show at every turn. The rule? All of a sudden- Something happens but were not really sure what and well have to give ourselves a little time to let our brains catch up. Despite that, its beautifully shot- the set design is fantastic, giving off an air of a neon future, very much like how people in the 50s thought the year 2000 would look like. Neon bars, signs, voices. I dont know what a neon voice is, but it sounds cool, so Im keeping it in. Overall, very good film. Not a blockbuster, so if your favourite film is directed by Michael Bay or McG, then firstly, stay away from the film, and secondly, stay away from me. But if youre normal, then its well worth a watch. ALL OF A SUDDEN- the review ends. Thanks TI... now put that glass down and get back to work!
