Hello friends, As of this morning, it has been a 700 diaper week. I will be in this morning, but just for a couple of hours meeting a couple of families and straightening a bit. Thinking final count this week will be roughly 900. As always on Saturdays, the regular doors are locked, and we use the nursing home doors. This week we provided diapers, wipes, baby food, formula, clothing, bottles, bedding, shoes and toys. We added two new families and also assisted several families in emergency situations. Current needs: We are low on size 2 especially, also low on size 1 and 6. Our wipes are low. Our supplies of diaper ointment, cream, powder are almost all gone. We have not one piece of size 18 month baby girl clothing (for summer). Looking for size 1.5 shoes for a boy and size 3 shoes for a boy youth size Projects: Backpack and School Supply Project Our expanded goal is to assist 100 Piatt County Children with backpacks and all the school supplies they need to begin the year so we need your help! We are still taking backpacks and school supplies and these items are begin organized and stored by Ronda Buchanan. We also have drops offs and collection sites at several area businesses and supplies are also gratefully accepted at A Small Hand and Community Action. Please see the project group page or message one of the coordinators of this project for more information. ***Special Request- We have been unable to locate protractors and compasses and have several middle and high school students in need of these items. We would so appreciate your help in locating and purchasing these items. Please remember the pool party from 7:30-9:30 on July 15 (free admission with the donation of school supply (supplies) and the upcoming Monicals fundraiser. Roof repair project: All this rain makes me so worried about our family with the terrible roof! Just keep thinking about that soaked insulation and hoping it stays in place until we can help. Plan B is the rubber roof and truss fix. Materials will be about $1,000. We have donations in the amount of $350.00.
