Hello, friends! Im trundling along pretty well as a live music photography thing, but Ill be doing something a little new over the coming months, and need your help! Id like to introduce you to [Human Underneath] - my new (and first!) photoshoot concept! Over the last few months, theres been a rise of discussion surrounding the Middle East, and a lot of this has resulted in Muslims being targeted for harassment by a uninformed and prejudiced individuals. In each of the five cases Ive witnessed alone, the verbal attacks have been focussed on women, and always those who were wearing a hijab, except one girl who was neither Muslim, nor wearing any traditional clothing - only a scarf around her head to keep her ears warm! [Human Underneath] aims to address that. To show that underneath the cloth, theres a person, with her own hopes, dreams, likes and dislikes, and the project is looking for volunteers. If you are a Muslim woman of any age, who wears any form of head covering - from shayla to hijab, chador to niqab - and you dont mind being photographed in a portrait format, I would love to hear from you! Volunteers must be okay with their images being used online and in print. If you have Muslim friends or family that may be interested, please share this along if you can.
