Hello friends, We are in the 67th year of Indian independence. India is a democratic developing country with *broad minded* citizens. Wait... did I just say *broad minded*?! Thats something to laugh about. We potray ourselves as ideal citizens with transparent, clear and modern thoughts but the truth is still undercover. Even now when a guy and a girl walk together in malls or streets, WE the so called citizens eye upon them and murmour tch... tch.. to oursleves! WHY? Did they do anything wrong? Cant a boy and a girl be friends? Even if they are friends WE the citizens say they are in a relationship! But sadly there exists a word called friendship too. Should friendship exist only between the people of same gender? What kind of freedom is that? Is this called being broadminded? Independence is just a word which India has got attached to! But real independence lies in the mindset of people. That is what is going to make a difference in the end of the day. When will this social evil end? Development of a country dosent lie in its economical rise , attractive infrastructure or successful business deals. On the contrary it depends on the mindset, optimistic nature and noble thoughts of people. Only when we achieve this goal, India will be truly independent and we will be the proud citizens of a independent country both economically and emotionally! Amrita
