Hello from Thailand! It has been a whirlwind tour and I have finally landed seaside for a few days to recoup and regroup. I am here at the resort until Saturday; Viet Nam is the next stop before I think about going home. I can’t believe the holiday is nearly at an end. I have seen enough Buddha images to last me a lifetime. Bangkok is a densely populated city with crazy traffic. The highlight to date was my stay in Chiang Mai. Seeing the hill tribes…the long necked women, the big ears and the Akha…was like something out of National Geographic. The Loi Krathong festival was in full swing there. You could not count the number of Fire Lanterns in the sky they were so plentiful, and the Ping River was jammed with Krathongs. They are hand made flower offerings to the river spirits. It was a truly spiritual experience. From Chang Mai, I went on to Laos and Cambodia, before landing in Cha Am. I find myself surrounded by speedo wearing, totally tanned, German speaking tourists! Where is Ann when you need her? Yep, the Germans have landed. I am off to bed shortly, hoping I don’t slide out from under the sheets. I had a full body, scented oil, Thai massage today. Slippery isn’t the word! Miss everyone, especially Marty. My mom informs me he is following my dad around like a lost little puppy. Seems there has been some male bonding going on in my absence. Goodnight from Cha Am. Beep Beep Beep
