Hello, please keep anonymous. My boyfriend and I went looking for an engagement ring a couple months ago. After a few weeks of looking we found the one we liked for the right price at Zales. I had done my research, and compared diamonds for hours till I found the one I liked. He had it sized to fit me and bought it on the spot, however I still had to wait till he proposed. Some months went by when he did finally ask. But this was not the same diamond. This diamond had a big black dot inside, and wasnt the correct size either. We went back to the store as soon as possible. The manager recited to us you must have seen it under all the excitement it must have looked different to you but theres no way. All they could do for us is upgrade our not as good diamond to a new one for 3000 dollars more. It occurred to us that this was a game, a tactic used by them all the time. Why else would they be so calm, know exactly what to say. They only wanted up sale us for a new one. They wouldnt let us exchange the ring and when they finally did consider it, they tried to give us a diamond even worse then the one on my ring. My boyfriend left he was so angry. The diamond was different and the ring wasnt sized correctly. Horrible. I left crying.
