Hello veg friends :) What are your thoughts on the Museum of Nature? We went to see the Glow Exhibit yesterday and were kinda squicked out by the live portion of the exhibit (two scorpions, jelly fish, and fluorescent fish). They were really cool to see in person, but after leaving I started to think about what its like for them stuck in a museum. They have an extensive insect collection, and taxidermy dioramas. I know the answer in terms of the live exhibit, I dont think its really ok to capture animals and keep them in a museum for months. But in terms of supporting the Museum of Nature despite their 20 year old taxidermy- should we be paying general admission when thats what some of the costs go for? Are they valuable enough as an educational and research institution to overlook the old taxidermy? Id love to hear your thoughts and opinions. Its one of those things I never questioned as the museum was a mainstay of my childhood, I just kind of took it for granted.
