youcaring/medical-fundraiser/help-me-bash-cancer/213604 The last year and a half has been difficult for our family. My father-in-law was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last year and he was in the hospital for the better part of 8 months last year. Luckily, he is a fighter and is a Survivor today. Sadly, this year, my Dad was diagnosed with colon cancer and he’s had an operation to remove the tumor and is currently receiving chemotherapy. As you can imagine, both of these events have been tough on everyone in our family. The day-to-day care of our Dads demands lots of time and attention and the medical bills keep mounting. Our son Sebastian, “Bash,” is 7 years old. He’s a happy and playful kid. But, children his age can be quite perceptive and inquisitive, and so when he sensed things were not all that great with his Grandfathers… he asked lots of questions. We did our best explaining what was going on to Bash, but I felt that just talking about it was not enough for him. It became clear to me that he wanted to ‘do’ something to help! So, after thinking about how I could help our son ‘do’ something to help his Grandpas, I came up with this idea to teach my son, and hopefully kids everywhere, that their ideas and talents can be a powerful force of goodness in the world. Bash makes me smile and inspires me every day. I hope that our little project brings a smile to your face and brightens your day wherever you may be. Thank you for reading, listening and supporting our cause.
