Woman’s body found in car trunk July 7, 2014 9:30PM GARY — Police are investigating a possible homicide after they found the body of a woman Monday in the trunk of a car in a wooded area. Police Chief Wade Ingram Jr. said police got a call Monday Gary about an abandoned car on a gravel road behind New Nazareth Baptist Church, 1626 E. 21st Ave. Police went to the scene, opened the trunk and discovered the decomposed body of a black woman, according to police. Ingram said police are trying to identify the victim. Det. Richard McClelland is the lead detective on the case. Anyone with information should contact him at (219) 881-1214.
