Help Silver Key Fill Thanksgiving Food Bags! Autumn is in the air and that means Silver Key Senior Services will be collecting food for Thanksgiving bags soon! Our annual food drive to collect the fixings for Thanksgiving meals will take place on Saturday, October 26, 2013. Join us at four area King Soopers locations as we accept food donations that will fill the Bountiful Bags. If you are not planning on shopping that day, you can drop off food items at Silver Key Senior Services, located at 2250 Bott Avenue, throughout the entire month of October. The Bountiful Bags project provides seniors enrolled in our Nutrition Services food programs with Thanksgiving meal fixings in November. For more than 20 years, Silver Key has invited the community to help us make the holidays special for the seniors we serve. This year our goal is to fill 1,000 bags with all the trimmings for a memorable Thanksgiving meal. Silver Key staff and volunteers will be at the following Kings Soopers locations on October 26, 2013; from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. handing out “Wish Lists” and accepting donations. • 1750 W. Uintah Street • 3620 Austin Bluffs Parkway • 9225 N. Union Blvd • 6030 Stetson Hills Blvd Items on the “Wish List” this year are: • Cranberry Sauce (14 or 16 oz. cans) • Instant Mashed Potatoes (either 3.3 to 4.1 oz pouches, or 6.6 to 7.2 oz boxes) • Turkey Gravy Dry-Mix • Yams/Sweet Potatoes (29 oz. cans) • Green Beans (14.5 oz. cans) • Stuffing/Dressing (turkey, herbed, or seasoned 6 oz. boxes or bags) For more information about the Bountiful Bags project please go to silverkey.org
