Help get the word out! In recognition National Crime Prevention Month and Fire Prevention Month, the Village is hosting a Home and Family Safety Fair on Sunday, October 13 at the Skokie Campus of Oakton Community College. From noon to 4 p.m. presentations will be offered on a range of safety topics including: ROOM A-145 12:15 - 1:15 p.m. - Cook County Sheriff’s Office on “Home and Personal Safety” 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. - Illinois Attorney General’s Office on “Identity Theft Prevention and Cyber bullying Prevention” 3 - 4 p.m. - Skokie Police Department and Metropolitan Family Services “Senior Safety and Scam Prevention” ROOM A-151 12:15 - 1:15 p.m. - Skokie Fire Department on “Home Fire Safety” 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. - Home Security Technology Session 3 - 4 p.m. - Active Transportation Alliance on “Bicycling Safety in Skokie” Additionally, exhibitors from public agencies and area service providers will be on hand to provide information to the public. The exhibitors range from public safety agencies to vendors of home automation and surveillance services, exterior lighting contractors, identity theft service providers, home alarm services and more.
