Help me friends! I just committed to teaching a course on literature and the environmental imagination this spring. I know nothing about this topic; the course is my excuse to learn about it. (Its a freshman writing seminar, so its OK to play a little fast and loose with the contents.) Academic friends, what is the must-read criticism/scholarship? Everybody, what are the works of literature that have changed the way you imagine nature/wilderness/frontier/countryside/conservation/sustainability/etc?
