*Help me help you* So Motheo, Jamie, Misha (my manager), and I have learned a lot over the last three years. Were not huge, but weve accomplished much were proud of, and the truth is a lot of this was built on what we learned from others, whether in books, casual conversations, or deliberate teachings. We feel we have a duty as South African musicians to do what we can do for our whole industry to continue to rise and work towards its true potential. And so we want to give back. We want to teach what weve learned too, and pay the education forward. How that will work - whether its a workshop, one-on-one sessions, etc - we havent quite figured out, but my question is: -What would you most like to learn from us?- 1) How to manage a career as a professional music 2) Songwriting 101 3) How to become a competent (if not absolutely great) live performer 4) How to produce music 5) How to land gigs, etc 6) How to build a following independently and with little to no money with the tech tools available to you 7) Copy writing for music 101 Id also like to know how youd want these lessons to be done? Online, workshop, conference? How? We just want a sense of where we should focus our attention to best serve and assist you with your pursuits in the music business.
