Helping the needy (3) Fund raising for donation Vs Fund raising for karje hasana. In last two postings, I mentioned about the events of fund raising for karje hasana (interest free loan). However, I have experience of fund raising as donation for various purposes in the past (starting from 1998). I collect zakat money from people including myself, make a fund and distribute as monthly stipend to some students or one time donation to student or other needy people. Again, I maintain a fund for giving karje hasana to people for short term or long term basis and non-zakat type donation. Some people also contributes to my non-zakat fund. Usually, I ask people to give me a part of his zakat money in ramadan. (Ramadan is approaching, any one can come forward to help continue and increase the volume of my activities) I did (do) fund raising as donation (zakat /non-zakat) for specific purposes. Some examples are: i) Helping a C virus patient; ii) helping few cancer patients; iii) for masjid re-construction; iv) helping yatim khana etc. v) giving a small amount of salary to a primary school which was neither govt nor non government; v) giving a small amount of salary to a madrasah (dakhil) which is waiting to be included as MPO by the government for several years - teachers has no salary, just waiting..., vi) giving incentive to some masjid imam engaging in teaching sahih al-quraan during ramadan, etc. Other than cases mentioned in the previous two postings, I did several karja hasana type fund raising to help some other persons for getting rid of the loans, or for treatment etc. Alhamdulillah, many friends, brothers, sisters well wishers helped me in this processes. May Allah reward them all. I am stating all these to you - not for showing how good I am!! In my religion Islam, if I do so, all rewards for such activities would be vanished in akhirat. Please pray for me so that it does not happen, rather these activities become helpful me getting full benefit in akhirat. My target is to encourage others (Actually, some people are already encouraged and started such activities) to do such activities in his/her surroundings. Other target is to find some new contributors for my activities. And in the next posting, I shall state a special karje hasana type fund raising and like to get help from my facebook friends for that purpose. (please follow the next posting)
