Henry Rollins Famous Rant: I understand hes complaining about bad behaviour...fair enough... but.... They should get your salary and you should get theirs......Really? Because the techs, the roadies, the stage managers, the drivers, the agents, the managers, the catering, the merchandising people, the venue owners, the accountants, The PR people, the publishing companies, the record companies, the promoters, the media outlets..... All DO get paid BEFORE the so-called artist... In fact, its usually the money generated in the so called artists name that pays everyone...Most tours do not make money for ANY act... Most acts rely on merch sales and/or performance royalties to make any money... Its true that theres no excuse for bad behaviour but think .... Keith Richards, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Warren Zevon, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Hank Williams, The Who, Kurt Cobain, Shane McGowan.... Well behaved? Is Henry in this league? Were Black Flag as good as any of these? Maybe.... but anytime I read this, I feel its like Rollins is sucking up to teacher, Trying too hard to alert the music industry to his own good behaviour... Opinions?
