Henry Winters firstbeauty Henry Winters is long gone. Hes been gone for some time now. The name still evokes fear in small town USA. Henry was a recluse. A strange man one may say. He kept to himself. He had no friends and he didnt care to have any. It was obvious Henry didnt want to be bothered and hed let everyone know it. Hed say to himself, Thank you very much! It was an Indian summer, a crisp fall day when the October breeze would rustle the corn leaves whispering promises of a fall harvest and Halloween treats to come. The first murder happened two weeks before Halloween to a little girl named Trudy. The day was so beautiful and sunny. Trudy was in the cornfield with her her older sister Elizabeth and their father. Their father told them if you are very still and quiet you can hear the corn grow. The older girl thought this was silly but Trudy believed every word that her father told her. Their father went back to the farmhouse and let the children play. What the children didnt know was that Henry was waiting for a golden opportunity. He seemed to wait for hours and was about to give up when the childrens mother called for supper. Elizabeth ran to the farmhouse and called for Trudy to follow, but Trudy wouldnt come. She wanted to hear the corn grow. The parents scolded Elizabeth for leaving Truy alone, so Elizabeth went to get her sister, but couldnt find her. Trudy was never seen again. The family was heartbroken. Henry liked this power. He killed little Trudy and disposed of her body in his yard at night. Many bodies disappeared over the years, mostly recluses like himself. He thought murdering children would be a risk -too risky, too loved. But one day..... Henry went fishing and saw a boy about 10 yrs old fishing alone. He had the urge build up in him. Henry picked up his fishing pole and decided to talk to the boy. The boy John knew about Henry and being a curious boy asked Henry why was he always alone? Henry toyed with the boy for a bit and before the boy knew it he was pushed in the water unable to breathe and he perished. For some strange reason a current pushes the boy downstream,and Henry falls in the water too. Henry cant grab the body. Henry starts to panic but is able to get out of the water. He watches the body go out of sight. Henry goes home. He starts to change his clothes and notices that his pocket watch is gone. It must have fallen in the current. He normally wouldnt care, but it does have his initials on it.....His mind starts to wander, nah he says if anything they will just find the boy. That night Henry dreams of all the murders he commits and almost chuckles in his sleep until the faces of all his victims appear to him and tell him he wont last another night. Henry wakes up in a cold sweat and takes a shot of whiskey. Little Johns body is found the next day and in his hand clutched tight is Henry Winters pocket watch. The town is angry and they hold a town meeting. That night they plan to go to Henrys home with the evidence and torch his house. At midnight the angry mob led by the sheriff and Johns parents descend upon Henrys house. Henry looks outside. He sees the whole town with torches of bright orange flame. The sheriff presents Henry with the evidence. Henry cowers in fear under his kitchen table. He starts to hear two childrens voices saying why? and other voices screaming no! mixed in with burn the murderer! burn the murderer! Henry is in shock. The townspeople start to torch Henrys home. Henry starts to scream. Henry tries to escape out the front door but they barricaded him in. He takes one last look outside at the mob of people. Instead of seeing the townspeople, he sees all the people he has murdered coming closer and closer to him with torches of flame...so close it touches Henrys face. The home burst up in flames. The mob is satisfied. The next day the sheriff with some sniffer dogs come out to Henrys home and suprisingly find no trace of Henry Winters. The dogs on the other hand start barking and start to dig up bones of eleven bodies around the Winters yard. Thankfully the bodies were all identified and given to their respected families for a proper burial. One thing is certain Everyone is sure Henry Winters was a spawn of the devil himself. Today in that small town USA the parents tell their children if they dont listen that Henry Winters will get them. END #JJM #LIKE #SCARY?
