Here I am in sunny Devon where it rains four days in seven. This is my 85th day of retirement and how I need it. The R.S.I. injury is manageable and the weathers been great. My State Pension which I paid into all my working days is good when they can be bothered to pay it! Yes out of all the people I know who get a State Pension not one of them has had any trouble receiving it,(some for over 28years) but me--wow-I was warned about the State Machine, you know the D.S.S.S.(the D.W.P.),the unemployment office(job centre) and all the rest, but I have worked continuously for the past 35years so it didnt affect me, it was somebody elses problem mainly in their head so I thought-alas it catches up with everyone in the end-well except for the Political Classes, the Ruling Classes and the 1%,the super rich. Now you might ask what has happened to you that makes you want to tell everybody-tis a strange tale where the truth is stranger than fiction--it happened like this: 2 or 3 weeks ago I looked at my Bank Balance to make sure there was enough in there to pay my bills and lo and behold I noticed that my State Pension which is paid 1 week in arrears, had not been paid into my account. On checking with the Pension Service I was astonished to find my State Pension payments had been suspended without my knowledge-now we get to the juicy bit-why had they suspended my pension payments well I will tell you what the Pension Service said, We find we have not been paying you enough, in fact we should be paying you £1.77 a week more so the Pension Credit payment which is paid to your family and yourself, 2 weeks in arrears, could be overpaid, so we have suspended your pension payments to make sure that does not happen--that beggars belief-well the saga hasnt finished there but I have for the moment. I am going to thoroughly enjoy getting it of my chest so to speak.
