Not long home from this very lovely evening at The Old Vic Theatre in London. Im still laughing away to myself because I cant stop thinking about all the funny things that were said and done at the Old Vic on Saturday and at the Garrick afterwards. Thank you Kate OToole, It was a real honor to be there. It was such a very, very special occasion, very emotional and moving and spiritual, but also hysterically funny. I thought Kevin Spacey was going to keel over on the floor beside us, he was doubled over laughing so much. It was so hilarious to hear all that filthy language in such a posh place. I must admit I also shed a few years at times, especially when you spoke yourself so elegantly and emotionally about your dear Daddy and how much you will always miss your best friend. Its obvious that there was (and always will be) a great great love between the two of you. You two are kindered spirits, soul mates. I hope that you can get some comfort from the words of the great spiritual thinkers true love is eternal and it has no beginning and no end. I also shed a tear or two when the rugby players started singing carry me home but the sad tears suddenly changed to tears of laughter when they started doing the hilarious (and very bold) sign language towards the end of the song. I think everybody could feel a great love and strong bond in that theatre on Saturday because of the mutual respect and awe and admiration for the wonderful character that he was. It was obvious that your wonderful Daddy was dearly loved and adored by all who had the great pleasure to know him. Unfortunately I never met him, but after yesterday I feel like I know him well. You could actually feel his presence there yesterday. It felt like he was sitting over there beside you Kate laughing and joining in with all the devilment and madness at what was a really magnificent tribute to a magnificent man. Hugs to you Kate and I hope you get some well deserved sleep and sweet dreams now. Well done you Kate for pulling it all together so brilliantly. You are a truly amazing gorgeous lady Kate O Toole.
