Here are some details we made decisions on at tonight’s meeting. Just for fun, there is one item in here that is factually incorrect. Can you guess what it is? The Wild Carp Classic will take place May 14-17, 2015 on the Seneca River in Baldwinsville, NY. Teams may be 2 or 3 anglers and there will be 6 rods per team. The tournament web page will be added to the Wild Carp Companies website no later than Jan 12. When it is completed, a link will also be posted to Facebook. Open registration will begin Jan 19 and will not be an exclusive for Ed French Open participants as we were previously discussing. We ruled it would cause too many headaches to make these special exceptions now and for future events. Registration is $750 per team and we will accept a $300 deposit to hold your place on the leader board. The registration form will be added to the tournament page on the Wild Carp Companies site on the 19th. From there, it is your responsibility to print the form, fill out your team info and tshirt preorder form, then send your deposit/full payment and shirt money. No teams will be added to the leader board until payment has been received. If you don’t want to miss registering for this event, send your forms and payment ASAP! If you would like to send your deposit first, then tshirt money/final payments at a later date(s), that is ok as long as it is completed before the deadline. No teams will be added to the leader board before mail has been received on Jan 23, so as to not give local teams an advantage over people mailing in from out of town. That gives everyone ample time to send your payment to be considered for the first round of leader board additions. In the event that more registration forms are received in a given day than places remaining on the leader board, a random drawing will be done of those entries. Whichever team(s) is not chosen will have their money returned and will be first on the waiting list should any teams withdraw. We will only be accepting money orders payable to Wild Carp Companies, as we did for the Ed French Open. Prize payouts will be listed on the web page. We are paying $20,400 in prizes (roughly 25% of fees will be retained for expenses). The format is Big 10, with a minimum of 10 lb, 0 oz to count toward your Big 10 total. Your team must complete your Big 10 in order to be eligible for prizes (including Big Fish prizes). New this year will be splitting the field into two sections of 18 pegs each. Pegs 1-18 will be at Lion’s Community Park and the Strache property. Pegs 19-36 will be at Onondaga Lake Park (dog park to Willow Bay). The three new pegs introduced this year will be adjacent to the dog park (in between pegs 21 and 22 frOM the Ed French Open). There will be prizes for Section A, Big 10 1st-4th and Section B, BIG 10 1st-4th. Additional prizes will be awarded for the ten largest fish of the tournament. There will be a $100,000 cash prize for whoever catches a NY State record catfish.
