Here are some facts to all the people who hate the Patriots Cheaters again, huh? So if gaining a competitive edge is cheating then any team that has had a player suspended for PEDs are cheaters too! Although I dont expect anyones opinion to change, let me enlighten you with all the background info. (I suggest before commenting that you do your homework. Drop Facebook for just 10 minutes of your day and Google the facts.) 2001 Tuck Rule: The tuck rule is exactly what it is...a RULE!! People act like the Pats invented the rule in the AFC Championship against the Radiers, but it was actually added to the rule books in 98-99. (I thought it was a fumble too.) 2001 Rams walkthrough video: Never happened! An ex-employee fabricated the story out of bitterness. He later detracted his statements. (Look it up.) 2007 Spygate: Before 2007, videotaping opponents signals were legal and multiple teams were doing it. In week 1 of the 2007 season the Pats whooped the Jets and their coach (Eric Mangini) was so upset that he told the league that the Pats were still videotaping signals. We admitted that we misinterpreted the rules, took our penalty and fine! Weve put this behind us...why cant you? 2014- Divisional Playoffs: Ravens accuse us of illegal substitutions and formations. Sorry!, nothing to see here. Just because our coach is smart enough to use LEGAL formations on 1st, 2nd, & 3rd down instead of just on 4th down is not our fault. 2014- Deflate-Gate The Pats are accused of deflating 11 of 12 game balls by 2 pounds per square inch. Heres my take: if the balls were deflated and WHOMEVER is responsible should be punished for integrity of the game, not the team (players)! I highly doubt that they were in a team meeting and coach BB said, Hey, were gonna deflate the balls today so we have an advantage. No! If this was done, it would most likely be the act of ONE or a COUPLE of individuals! The deflated balls dont block, dont run, dont cover, dont tackle, etc... so to take this out on players is TOTALLY wrong!!! This disgusts me as a Pats fan because they DIDNT need it to win and it just gives our critics more fuel for the fire. And finally, I just dont get how PLAYOFF refs, who are considered the best, handle the ball after EVERY snap, did not notice this alleged ball deflation, but the ball boy/equipment staff did....? Lets see what theyll come up with if we beat the Seahawks in the Super Bowl.
