Here are some hard facts to consider about stealing: It distorts our priorities, makes things more important than people and violates the rights of others. But just being Christians and trying to be rigorously honest in all our dealings as demanded by the 5th Commandment, “Thou shall not steal” (Exodus 20:15), won’t do if we fail to understand that our failure to pay tithes and give to the needy amounts to robbing God. So even as we enjoy our weekend, let’s understand that the way to make God, “…throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing…” (Malachi 3:8-12), is to freely give unto Him, that which is rightfully His!
