[Here are three pictures representative of the days activities] First off, if you tried to catch us on the radio yesterday we werent on. The DJ had neglected to tell us she tapes the show at 10:00 a.m. and when we arrived early - 11:15 seemed early enough for a noon gig- she had already taped and apologized for the mixup. She rescheduled us for September 19th at the same time. “No rain, no rain” didnt work. The Riverfront received three deluges last evening and it was all the volunteers at our booth could do to keep things dry and in one place. But we did it. A team of ten helped keep damage to a minimum and also helped bring people to the booth. Teamwork among the booths workers was also wonderful. All in all a wonderful evening and great music. The other MSA couple joined us at the booth and were a wonderful addition to the evening. Marta, my compadre with her husband Chuck, had contacted all the bands to secure their signature on our guitar and helped get those artists to sign. So far three signatures, Delbert McClinton, Matthew Curry and Chris Stevens are there with many more today. Delbert also autographed the harmonica and we are so grateful for that also. Meeting people was the other positive out of the evening. People stopped by and asked about the disease, two women came by and told us their friend in Maryland has MSA and has a caregiver team of three. We will see if we can get connected through Facebook or email. One gentleman in a motorized scooter has Muscular Dystrophy and he and his wife talked to us for a bit also. Hopefully making people more aware will ramp up today with some drier weather moving in. Better quit, need to get ready to head down to the river. Have a good day and check back in tomorrow.
