Here at the Front Porch we are all about Community! That is why we are so excited about the beautiful coming together we see happening surrounding this Saturdays concert. Not only do we have dear friends from near and far (Nashville and North Carolina for our bands) getting together for a fantastic time, but we have friends providing all sorts of things. A porta potty was just delivered for heaven sake (THANK YOU, Russ Gulliford!)! Plus, my friends Tracy and Jennifer at Pies by Inge are working like crazy to provide us with delicious desserts. Hey, but that is not all. We got a huge gift, which pays for all of the desserts, through the generous donation made by THRIVENT FINANCIAL! Are you kidding me?! Thrivent Financial is a company that connects faith and finances. They are finance professionals who can help you with all of your financial goals and questions, all while keeping faith and generosity as a core value. They have a program called Thrivent Action Teams that allows folks to apply for a grant to put on events for making a difference in the lives of others. Our own Bruce Paulsrud is a consultant for Thrivent and we are so blessed to know him and his family. They are amongst our dearest friends. All of this coming together for the sake of our sister community at Ludlati Carepoint in Swaziland Africa is more than this girls heart can handle. Hooray! Our vulnerable children and precious Bomake (other mothers) that provide a place for them to be nurtured are part of the family, and the team cant wait to get there for the annual reunion.
