Here goes another reason to boycott any business dealing with any Multinational Corporation like Firestone Corporation and Houston-Texas based Engineering Firm, KBR, which is a subsidiary of The Halliburton Corporation, who increase the plight of the African Children and hamper the Structural Direct Foreign Investment that is so need in Africa to create real Economic Growth. The former Nigerian Anti-Corruption Chief is indeed an African and Auditor Hero! He received $15,000,000 in bribery to pervert the means of justice. Guess what? He used this money as evidence to prosecute the corrupt governor and elites in Nigeria. This led to a Federal prosecution of KBR executive, Albert “Jack” Stanley in Houston, Texas. Albert “Jack” Stanley, the former KBR Inc. (KBR) chief executive officer, was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison for bribing Nigerian officials to win $6 billion in natural gas contracts for the company and its partners. U.S. District Judge Keith Ellison, who handed down the sentence yesterday in Houston, also sentenced Stanley, 69, to three years of supervised probation. Stanley pleaded guilty in September 2008 to violating the U.S. anti-bribery law, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and agreed to make restitution of $10.8 million, of which $1.55 million remains to be paid. He faced as long as seven years in prison under the terms of his cooperation agreement. This is one of the reasons why Liberia needs an Auditor General like John Morlu, CPA, CFE, CIA, CMA, CGFM,CGAP to head the General Audit Commission whose mission is to fight corruption in Liberia. God blessed these anti-corruption agents. Signed: Joseph F.B. McCabe THEPEOPLESPOLITICIAN
