Here is PART 1 of A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A COMP COACH. Its all in here girls - bits and pieces of real troubles, scenarios, questions, freak outs, only featured on one day!!! Gstring and cossie queries, PCOS, skinfolds going well, or not - not being on-target, pulling out, changing divisions. This is an extract below.....I really hope you enjoy it, and will post Part 2 tomorrow. Although all emails revolving around BC are important the major ones ones that I absolutely must prioritise are the accountability charts that the competitors send in once a week. This morning there are 5 so far. I begin to read them. These charts are what I base my weekly tweaks of the micro-managed nutrition plans on, and I carefully read not only what they did and didn’t do through the week food and training wise, but also read their thoughts/feelings and feedback. I always take time to respond to their questions if they write questions in there and troubleshoot if I need too. Here is just one basic example from competitor “A”. Weekly Feedback: - 1.4 kg drop - Mon/tues/Wed have been as planned except I had extra serve of Casein last night and am sneaking a couple more walnuts in my servings(should we take the walnuts out?!?) Did Ice 19 on Tuesday (rower) - I am still having stevia with my green teas and coffee. When do you want me to stop taking it? - Are we changing up my weights soon? - 8 weeks, this is scary stuff...it still feels weird not doing much cardio. In a way I feel bad...is this normal? - I have dropped a fair bit of my weight and am really working on my technique. Especially in my stiff leg deadlifts and bench press. My front raises feel so much safer now, thanks so much Ing So I duly do up her new micro, check her training and make my responses to the above questions. In the meantime my phone is flashing with FB notifications and messages and in the back of my mind I vaguely consider that one day I really should turn off notifications but I seemingly never get round to it. In the middle of this time I receive a phone call from a competitor. She asks me a series of questions regarding choosing her bikini, the dilemmas of choosing a cut for the brief as one of her federations allows G-string (yes glutes are a body part!) and one doesn’t. I suggest this leave no choice but to let go of the G-string idea and quietly think that’s a shame as she has great glutes, tight skin, no stretch marks on them, and for a 41 year old, her butt looks every good as a 24 year old god bless her.
