Here is a Dave Roberson treatment update for everyone, since many have been wondering... As everyone knows, we had plans to go to Duke for consultation and possible treatment. Well, unfortunately, Dr. Friedman said there isnt a treatment option or study there that David would be eligible for because he has the Gliadel Wafers implanted (Google). He expanded upon that by stating there isnt a study in the US or probably abroad that he would be able to participate in. (Never tell a determined wife that.) After a couple hours reading through every Johns Hopkins open study and sending the study doctors emails, I found something that David may qualify for. He meets the minimum criteria but they have not seen the MRIs or CT scans yet. We have two appointments with them on Thursday- radiation oncologist and oncologist. On Friday morning, we have an appointment at Hampton University Proton Therapy Institute to explore proton radiation treatments. Even though these trips are not too far from home, we never would be able to do all this without the love, hope, prayers, and of course, donations that we have received. We appreciate everything more than we could ever put into words. To know that I am able to search for treatments without extra stress is amazing. Thank you all. We love you!
