Here is a draft of a mission statement for this new professional network group: We are a group of people who are interested in Narrative Therapy and other post-modern ways of working as therapists. We wish to form a community to explore and share ideas and to further this form of psychotherapeutic work. We are Marriage and Family Therapists and MFT Interns, clinical trainees or students of clinical psychology. We are psychologists and psychology assistants, and masters and doctoral students. We are psychiatrists and medical students. Together we are creating the sort of non-judgmental and encouraging environment we have always wanted. This developmental space will enable us to explore our preferred identities as therapists. This is a professional grouping and persons will be expected to keep exchanges between members confidential. No client-identifiable information will be posted and in a further attempt to preserve the confidentiality of clients, any members who are also clients of other members will be expected to recuse themselves from participation until after they have completed therapy. Contributions are welcomed in the form of questions to the community, interesting articles, ideas of all kinds and suggestions for workshops or conferences.
